AmberLee of Giver’s Log points us to a tutorial she put together last year for making your own seed tape.

The intent of seed tape as I’ve seen it is to make planting easier when you have teeny tiny seeds that need to be planted just inches apart (like carrots and radishes). But it’s also fun for gifting flower seeds or giving away seeds you’ve collected from your own garden. And it’s a pretty simple and very kid-friendly project.

Such a brilliant gardening idea, and such a nice-looking gift as well. Love it!

Detailed, hands-on how-to info on a very rich manufacturing process that is rarely attempted by DIYers. Instructables user pseaton covers the process of designing and building your own molded plywood forms all the way from initial design considerations, through mold construction and veneer pre-treatment, to actually laying up the veneers and cleaning up the finished form. Very cool stuff, especially if you’ve got access to a CNC router that can accelerate construction of the mold parts.

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely guilty of obsessively collecting containers. Vintage canning jars? Check. Glass storage containers? Check. The peanut butter jar that I emptied last week? Huge check. So, whenever I see a clever jar-incorporating DIY, it speaks right to my glass hoarding heart. Case in point: this mason jar bathroom organizer tutorial from DIY Playbook.

Have you seen this kind of thing before? Probably. This method of rustic-inspired storage certainly isn’t a new idea, but DIY Playbook’s project is a beautifully executed, wonderfully useful example, so I think it bears repeating.
